Kazak’s Picks: July 2021

July is allegedly a summer month, but you wouldn’t necessarily know it if you listened to the best music released over these thirty-one days. Fittingly for a month in which much of the UK would be soaked in rain and cloudy skies, it seemed like much of the finest music was drenched in rage, uncertainty, and despair. Don’t be discouraged, though – the playlist below ought to highlight that July’s musical output was anything but boring. Instead, it was an exhilirating ride, and there were still enough bright spots to celebrate the few sunnier days that we did enjoy (e.g. Camila Cabello’s Don’t Go Yet, Matthew E. White’s Electric, and TAEYEON’s Weekend).

Any track that was released as a single or as part of an album, EP, or any other kind of musical project in July was eligible for inclusion for this month’s playlist (which is why you might see some tracks that first emerged in previous months).
