As August ends and September begins my mind inevitably begins to wonder how the tracks, EPs, and albums already released this year will stack up in December’s retrospective lists. August definitely gave a good account of itself in all three categories. However, it’s the best tracks of the month which perhaps shone brightest of all, and the playlist that showcases them below is certainly one of the most lively of the year.
Any track that was released as a single or as part of an album, EP, or any other kind of musical project in August was eligible for inclusion for this month’s playlist (which is why you might see some tracks that first emerged in previous months).
